A key role of Sydney Ports is to facilitate trade by providing a competitive advantage to importers and exporters and the port related supply chain.
The high number of operators at our port facilities requires an approach that allows for the effective management of landside transport movements to support the economic, environmental and social objectives of the port's activities. The introduction of traffic management plans has been identified by Sydney Ports as a useful tool in meeting this challenge.
Sydney Ports has prepared the Traffic Management Plan Guidelines for the preparation of traffic management plans at Port Botany, Sydney Harbour, Cooks River and Enfield.
The guidelines will assist an operator in developing a traffic management plan to manage road operations, construction works or other activities of a temporary nature at their facility.
The development of traffic management plans complements the individual Traffic Management Precinct Plans prepared by Sydney Ports for each port precinct that outline the key road transport management principles for that location.
