What is an MSIC

MSIC BadgeA Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) is a nationally recognised maritime Industry identification card.

It is a personal identity card showing that the holder has been cleared, to enter and work in maritime security zones of ports, ships and offshore oil or gas facilities.

An MSIC is required by all individuals that need to work unescorted or unsupervised in a maritime security zone. An MSIC is not an access card. The relevant authority at each port or facility controls access to its maritime security zones.

MSIC has a standard appearance recognised nationally across all Australian ports, Australian security regulated vessels and offshore oil or gas facilities.
