Sydney Ports has received planning approval from the Department of Planning to develop a second Bulk Liquids Berth (BLB2) at Port Botany.
See a copy of the EA here.
In May 2009, WorleyParsons Services was selected as the design consultant for the project. WorleyParsons Services commenced the design in June 2009 and the BLB2 final design was completed in March 2010.
The Registration of Interest phase for the construction of the berth and associated facilities closed in December 2009 and the successful short-listed construction contractors have been selected to proceed to the Request for Tender phase.
Subject to the resolution of technical studies associated with the design and proposed construction methods, Sydney Ports is targeting a project completion in late 2012.
