Sydney Ports Corporation has committed to securing Penrhyn Estuary for locally significant migratory shorebirds, as part of the Port Botany Expansion project.
This commitment will see $8 million spent to rehabilitate and expand Penrhyn Estuary. Upon completion, Sydney Ports Corporation will take on management responsibilities for the estuary and continue with long term monitoring and maintenance to ensure the ongoing success of the estuary as a shorebird habitat.
