With the pending work for the Grade Separation at the Penrhyn Road Roundabout, there will be a traffic change for Port Botany Inter-Terminal Access Detour Road from 5pm, 6 September 2010.
With the pending work for the Grade Separation at the Penrhyn Road Roundabout, a new Inter-Terminal Access Detour Road has been constructed through to Patrick CargoLink. The Inter-Terminal Access Detour Road will also provide access to Patrick Offices, Sydney Ports Operations Centre and the Switzer office.
As part of this construction transition, Sydney Ports will provide traffic marshals to manage the traffic at the Penryhn Road roundabout and the Inter-Terminal Access Detour Road to assist truck drivers and port traffic.
Sydney Ports will distribute a notification and map to truck drivers and industry stakeholders which outlines the traffic flow for the Inter-Terminal Access Detour Road. It is advised that trucks queuing for CargoLink will now queue on Simblist Road and will be called up by the terminal. CargoLink trucks will queue on the left side of Simblist Rd.
The Inter-Terminal Access Detour Road will be operational for 18 months until the construction of the Grade Separation Works is completed. Sydney Ports Traffic Marshals will be on site for two weeks. Note that directions by the Traffic Marshals are legally enforceable. Sydney Ports will continue to monitor traffic management of the Inter-Terminal Access Detour Road and provide traffic updates as required.
