Sydney has cemented itself as one of the world’s most popular cruise destinations, this year breaking records for cruise ships visits.
The cruise industry makes a valuable contribution to the NSW economy. It continues to flourish, with about 120 cruise ships booked to visit Sydney this financial year which is up from the 101 visits last year.
A new study conducted for the cruise industry revealed the economic benefits of passenger ships and confirmed Sydney as Australia’s number one cruise ship destination.
One of the early highlights has been the maiden visit of Superliner Dawn Princess to the Harbour City. The most recent addition to the Australia-based cruise scene, Dawn Princess will be based in Sydney and visit the city 15 times during the season.
