The 3rd Industry Briefing for the Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy, held on Thursday 2 April, attracted a record number of guests.
Attendees received progress reports from the Port Road Taskforce and Port Botany Rail Team and information was also provided on Industry Trial 2, which commenced on April 13.
A full debrief of the results of Industry Trial 1 that was used to baseline current road and stevedore performance at Port Botany was also discussed. For a copy of the presentation slides please click here
Industry Trial 2 concluded on 26 April and tested the draft performance and penalty framework for road and stevedore performance servicing Port Botany.
Notional penalty criteria will be theoretically applied to both road transporters and the stevedores where trial performance standards are not achieved. This will allow industry to understand and assess the notional impact of the type of penalties that may operate. While a range of notional penalty criteria for poor performance will be applied, no monetary calculations were imposed or shown during the trial.
Data from Industry Trial 2 is being finalised and will be presented to the Port Road Taskforce Meeting in early May and to interested stakeholders at the 4th Industry Briefing on 3 June.
