Container trade through Port Botany for the month of August 2011 was the highest ever for a single month of container movements.

In August 2010, the industry became aware of the requirement for both the current stevedores to identify and better manage overweight import containers exiting the Port Botany container terminals by road.

Amended Mandatory Standards under the PBLIS Regulation were gazetted on 16 September 2011. The amendments will have effect from 3 October 2011.
