The year 2011 has been a significant one for Sydney Ports on a number of fronts.

Container trade through Port Botany reached almost 184,000 TEUs in November 2011, up by 5.6 per cent on November 2010.

There has been a dramatic decrease in truck turnaround times, following the full implementation of the Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy (PBLIS) earlier this year.

Sydney Ports will, early in 2012, facilitate the next round of stakeholder engagement meetings in preparation for operational roll-out of new Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) scales at Port Botany.

Twenty nine cruise passenger ship visits were scheduled for Sydney in December, as the cruise season settled into another record-breaking year.

Pile driving on the second Bulk Liquids Berth (BLB2) project at Port Botany began on 1 December.
