One of the key roles supporting Port Authority of New South Wales' vision is to protect the environment and have regard to the interests of the community. We are committed to working with our stakeholders and local communities to minimise the impacts of port operations.

We work together with and support local communities as a part of our commitment to being a good neighbour. A range of initiatives is in place to achieve this including sponsorship of local events, establishment of consultative committees and liaison groups and investment in the upgrade of local facilities.

Specific activities include hosting quarterly meetings of the Community Liaison Group for the Glebe Island/White Bay precinct

As part of recent Port Botany development projects, we delivered upgrades to local facilities including:

  • $30 million investment into the Foreshore Beach, including the provision of a new boat ramp, two new pedestrian bridges and a new gymnasium for a local school
  • Retention and rejuvenation of an eight hectare site as a part of the development of the Intermodal Logistics Centre at Enfield, including development of an environment and community area
